Mark your calendar for August 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Start your summer day at the Glendale Visitor Center to pick up your sweet summer gift bag filled with downtown discounts, event map and a special surprise.  Free gift bags will be given to the first 500 visitors, and everyone will get a prize by spinning the themed prize wheel. Ride in style in our cool air conditioned Glendale Express shuttle which will provide free, all day service throughout Old Towne and Catlin Court.

Enjoy many interactive activities including make-and-take arts and crafts for a nominal fee, a caricature artist, magician, balloon art and a mime.

Another important part of the event is a Back to School Drive to benefit local K-8 schools in the Glendale Elementary School District.

The Visitor Center in partnership with the Glendale Police Department will be collecting the following items for deserving students in Glendale:

New backpacks
Pencils
Paper
Folders
Binders
Crayons
Glue

The schools are also in need of uniforms of all sizes for the students. They wear forest green polo shirts and khaki pants, shorts or skirts. They are available at Wal-Mart.
